DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
KGO-TV, the ABC Owned TV station covering the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a full-time meteorologist for weekend evening newscasts.
We are looking for someone to join the ABC7 News team who will produce and deliver compelling, accurate forecasts for all platforms. The ideal candidate will strike the right balance between the science of weather and a dynamic personality to tell an interesting weather story.
Duties will include vacation relief weather anchoring on Monday-Friday newscast, producing unique graphics and maps for M-F weather anchors, field reporting on severe weather, and shooting and editing weather stories for all platforms.
The ideal candidate is already a social media superstar and passionate about Weather and News.
Candidates will be expected to represent KGO-TV at community events, promotional events and speaking engagements.
REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for an excellent communicator and detail-oriented collaborator to enhance our strong News and Weather team. Five (5) years of experience as a TV weather anchor, meteorology degree and certification preferred. Familiarity with WSI TruVuMax is plus.
