MENLO PARK, Calif. (KGO) --One man's excitement about getting great tickets to the Super Bowl turned to disappointment in a matter of 30 minutes.
The Menlo Park man bought tickets off StubHub well below the going rate for he and his wife. StubHub turned around and said the seller made a mistake and it was backing out of the sale.
Andrew Naylor loves his football. The 49er season ticket holder owns numerous jerseys and attended Super Bowl 47 in New Orleans three years ago.

His earliest football memory goes back to Super Bowl 19 at Stanford Stadium. "My dad took us to tailgate, because we couldn't afford to buy tickets," Naylor said.
Naylor could hardly believe what happened when he scored end zone seats on StubHub to this Sunday's game for just $600 each. The going rate is $3,300.
"I texted my wife and said, hey, we're going to the Super Bowl. She told all her co-workers and she texted me back. She's very excited," he said.

That jubilance was short-lived. A phone call and email minutes later from StubHub cancelled the sale. "We're sorry it didn't work out," the email said. Naylor said StubHub told him the price was too low.
"At first, it was kind of in shock. I was can they do that?" Naylor said.
This isn't the first time StubHub has cancelled a sale. It cancelled one from a Laker fan who bought tickets to the Laker's last game this season.
Eighteen days after the purchase, Kobe Bryant announced his retirement. The last game of the season would be Kobe's last game of his career. StubHub would later back down, offering substitute tickets.

We reached out to the company to get a clarification on its policy. It told us it believes the seller made an honest mistake in pricing his tickets. "Because the StubHub user agreement states that sellers may not cancel orders to re-list tickets at a higher price, we are providing Mr. Naylor with replacement tickets."
"I understand mistakes are made. I also understand I've never been cut a break by StubHub before so I didn't think that was the way things worked," Naylors said.
Naylor said StubHub has given him the tickets he originally purchased at the original price.
