Baby goat badly burned in Milpitas grass fire recovers at Grass Valley sanctuary

GRASS VALLEY, Calif. (KGO) -- A baby goat badly burned during a grass fire in Milpitas is recovering at UC Davis but is under the watchful eyes of staff from the Love Creek Sanctuary in Grass Valley.

VIDEO: Goats flee fast-moving grass fire in Milpitas

A herd of goats that live and feed on a hill in Milpitas ran for their lives as a brush fire raced through the dry grass. Even though the situation looks dire, officials say all the animals survived. Here's a look at the dramatic video.

Facility workers have given the goat the name Charlie. Over the last few days, Charlie has been recovering from a bout of diarrhea.

Veterinarians say Charlie's energy also started to decline so they put him on the IV.

Right now Charlie is spending a lot of time with the student doctors, and his favorite stuffed animal.

Charlie still has a long road to recovery and is looking for donations to cover his medical expenses. Click here to make a donation to Charlie and the Love Creek Sanctuary.

Sky7 was overhead as a herd of adult and baby goats was trapped by a grass fire in Milpitas on Thursday.
