SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KGO) -- An elderly man is out of the hospital after he was beaten and robbed at a San Bernardino gas station on June 24. John Faust, a 78-year-old grandfather, was left with a fractured skull and a broken nose.

All he remembers is his attackers asking him for money and then he was knocked out cold. "When I start thinking about it, I'm lucky that's all I got was knocked out," Faust said. "They were looking strictly for cash because they didn't bother anything in the truck, they didn't take the truck."

Faust spent four days in the hospital. Police hope the security video at the gas station will help lead them to the suspects.
