Federal officials are for the first time advising pregnant women or those who expect to become pregnant to eat more fish.

The recommendation from the FDA and EPA is also being made to women who are breastfeeding and to young children.

It's suggested that women and children eat two to three servings of fish a week that is low in mercury, to get important health benefits. Previous guidelines focused on limiting the amount of fish consumed, due to concerns about mercury and contamination.
