Police investigating shooting death of woman in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating the shooting death of a woman in Oakland.

She was found shot to death near the Fruitvale District on 29th Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m.

ShotSpotter, the city's gunshot detection system, led officers to the area.

The victim's name has not been released.

So far, no arrests have been made.

This is Oakland's 66th homicide of the year.
