SF Pride take sponsorship blow with several companies pulling out
San Francisco Pride is dealing with the loss of several corporate sponsors worth up to $300,000, according to Director Suzanne Ford.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco Pride is dealing with the loss of several corporate sponsors worth up to $300,000, according to Director Suzanne Ford.

The companies include La Crema, Comcast, Anheuser Busch and Diageo. A fifth company hasn't been publicly revealed.

Ford says the organization is deeply saddened by the loss of these long-term partners.

SF Pride had a goal of raising $2.3 million for the upcoming year and just $1 million is committed so far.

La Crema responded to SF Pride's announcement, saying "We're still finalizing our sponsorship for SF Pride...we're still in talks with them, and we're kind of surprised when we saw the news...we intend to still find a way to support them." They said the decision to scale back is budgetary, not related to the current administration. "We're not backing away from DEI space. We're still as committed as ever. We pulled back a little bit and haven't been able to work with them in some capacity."

It's not clear why the other companies didn't renew their sponsorships.
