Man uses homemade 3-D printer to build backyard castle

SHOREWOOD, Minn. (KGO) -- A Minnesota man has created what's believed to be the world's first printed castle.

Andrey Rudenko built a concrete castle in his backyard using a homemade 3-D printer. He says it was his dream to build a castle.

Rudenko used his skills as a contractor and his passion for computers and architecture to design a large printer that spits out layers of concrete in whatever pattern he programs.

The castle took a total of two months to print from start to finish.

He's now dreaming of yet a larger project -- building a house.
