The ringleader, 38-year-old Ruben Palomares, testified against Ferguson. Palomares pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 13-years in prison.
The two men along with other uniformed officers raided homes where drugs or cash were believed to be stashed. The group would then split the money and sell the drugs on the streets for profit.
