The segments, "H-2" and "F", will connect the South Livermore Valley Trail to Sycamore Grove Regional Park, Robertson Park and Holdener Park, according to the district. The segments will also connect to a number of Livermore Valley wineries.
The $584,517 grant was made possible through the Federal Recreational Trails program, which provides funds for recreational and other trail-related projects, according to the district. The trails will be 25-feet wide, with a paved section for walkers and bicyclists, and a decomposed granite section for runners and horses.
Trail construction is scheduled for 2008 and 2009.
