Hot particulate matter from a car's exhaust pipe set fire to grass growing alongside the road. The fire then spread to other nearby vegitation.
The fire destroyed 10 homes and burned about 600 acres.
Authorities initially received witness reports that someone was intentionally starting fires in that area.
