Park mascot Danny the Dragon was at the zoo today as city officials broke ground on the second phase of the project.
The improvements will include an education center for children, new exhibits, rides and restaurants.
The park and zoo will be closed beginning July 8 for construction.
The new and improved Happy Hollow will re-open in the fall of 2009.
