According to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office, Marilyn Machalowski, 68, allegedly wrote checks to her daughter from the foundation's account, wired foundation money into her own account and made unauthorized contributions to her 401K account between 1999 and 2007.
During that period she was employed as a foundation account manager and payroll/benefit administrator.
Machalowski is charged with a single felony count of grand theft. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
She is scheduled to be arraigned in Santa Clara County Superior Court on Aug. 7.
