The crash, which initially blocked the entire roadway, was reported at 7:11 a.m. on eastbound Highway 80 just west of Alamo Drive, CHP Officer A. Paulson said.
One person suffered major injuries and was flown in an emergency helicopter to a hospital, according to Paulson.
A Sig-alert was issued at 7:28 a.m.
