BERKELEY, CA
Longtime Berkeley City Councilwoman Dona Spring died July 13 at
the age of 55, according to City Manager Phil Kamlarz.
The memorial service will be held between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at
Civic Center Park. Following the memorial service, a Celebration of Life will
be held between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the North Berkeley Senior Center,
located at 1901 Hearst Ave.
Spring, who had been a member of the council since 1993, died of
natural causes related to a long illness, city spokeswoman Mary Kay

Spring represented Berkeley's downtown area and was known for
being a strong advocate of tenants' rights and rights for the disabled.
