Bay Bridge not closed on Labor Day
OAKLAND, CA
Traffic on the span was closed for several days the past couple of years to install parts of the new eastern span of the Bay Bridge.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that contractors are making steady progress on construction of the bridge.
But Caltrans is expected to shut down traffic on the span again next Labor Day weekend, to complete construction of a new Yerba Buena Island bypass.
