Residents can place the nonperishable items in a bag next to their curbed trash and recycling on their normal collection date anytime through Friday. The food bank will travel in labeled trucks with Waste Management of Alameda County to try and reach a goal of collecting 50,000 pounds of food, according to the food bank.
The collaborative is a kick-off to the food bank's traditional Holiday Food Drive.
