Police Wednesday night are investigating a drive-by shooting in Vallejo that injured four people, including a two year old. It happened in the 1500 block of Lorenzo Street near Eliot.
Police say that two-year-old boy may not make it. He is at the hospital in critical condition. The shooting happened around 5 p.m., right in front of a house on Lorenzo Street.
Bullets struck the two-year-old boy and three men, all described as in their twenties. Police say the men were just hanging out in front of the house when they were shot. Investigators are trying to figure out the relationship between the three men and the two-year-old boy, so it's unclear if they are members of the same family or if they are friends. What's also unclear is a motive, but police are talking to witnesses in hopes of getting any information they can.
"I hear some shots, like around from 10-15 shots. I shut the door and watched them by the window. I saw a guy running from the corner of this house up to my fence and that was it," said Jose Gutierrez, a Vallejo resident.
"It appears at least at this point he was the lone suspect. There was some information that they saw more than one motorcycle rider, but it does appear to be just one suspect that drove up in front of the house. This was not a case of someone wildly firing down the street. He stopped in front of that house and began what was presumably a handgun, fired multiple rounds at the residence, then fled on the motorcycle," said Lt. Eric Mortenson, with the Vallejo Police Department.
The gunman is described as a black man, in his late twenties to early thirties. He was riding a ninja-type sport bike with a blue stripe on the side. He was also seen wearing a dark colored leather jacket, possibly, black, purple or dark blue.
