The 64-foot Hornblower hybrid uses power generated by two 10-foot tall wind turbines and a solar array covering the awning on the top deck.
The power to run navigation tools, electronic devices and lighting is stored in battery banks.
The boat will carry passengers to Alcatraz and Angel Island.
School groups can also use it for educational bay cruises.
