The donation from Williams' office was made to benefit students participating in the Synopsis Silicon Valley Science and Technology Championship to be held in March of 2009, according to his statement.
Students with the top projects in the fair will move on to compete in the California State Science Fair in Los Angeles and the Intel Science and Engineering Fair in Reno.
