Officers are scheduled to conduct two DUI and driver's license checkpoints this evening in response to the arrival of the National Hot Rod Association drag races at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma County, according to the Petaluma Police Department. The locations of the two checkpoints were not released.
The checkpoint operations were announced to deter impaired and unlicensed drivers from getting behind the wheel, police reported.
The checkpoints are funded by grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
