Airlines rake in with re-booking fees

Statistics out today show the airline industry collected a record $1.1 billion in re-booking fees during the first six months of this year.

That's almost double what the carriers collected last year and three times more than in 2007.

The reason? Many airlines have doubled their rebooking fees. It can now cost you up to $150 per leg of the flight to change your mind about when and where you want to fly.
