A new survey from the California Citizens Compensation Commission found lawmakers in Sacramento make more than $95,000 a year.
That is after accounting for an 18-percent pay cut, they took last year.
Compare that salary to ones legislators make in the next highest paid states -- Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania -- all earn less than $80,000 a year.
Of course, California does have the highest cost of living in the country.
The panel behind Monday's survey plans to meet next month, to consider whether to cut lawmakers' salary to roughly $85,000 next year.
