Gabriel Cokinos is being held at the Marin County Jail on charges of felony vandalism and auto burglary.
Police say over the past two-and-a-half months, Cokinos slashed 130 car tires in Fairfax and San Anselmo. They say he also scratched the paint on eight vehicles and stole items from five more.
Property damage is estimated at more than $20,000 in Fairfax alone.
