Police went to the 1000 block of 72nd Avenue on a report of an armed home-invasion robbery at about noon, Officer Holly Joshi said. Arriving officers spotted two suspects, both teenage male juveniles, leaving the home and set up a perimeter in the area.
A tactical team was called out to assist in the investigation, Joshi said. Officers determined one of the suspects was in a home in the area, and negotiators managed to talk him out sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., according to Joshi.
She said that suspect was taken into custody and officers continued to search the area until about 7:30 p.m. for the second suspect, who remains outstanding. Police know the identity of the second suspect and expect to make an arrest, Joshi said.
She said officers remained in the area this evening looking for the weapon used in the robbery.
