SF crime lab woes linked to dead standoff suspect

SACRAMENTO

The San Francisco police crime lab reportedly never tested the blood evidence found at a murder scene in the city last April. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the person who may have been involved in that murder was shot down by Sacramento police last week.

Between the time of the April homicide and his death last week, Alvarez allegedly robbed several banks and shot at a Concord police officer who tried to arrest him.
