Thomas Pollacci, 50, was found guilty of meeting a woman at a liquor store in Carmel Valley in April 2008 and coaxing her up to his room above the business, according to Flippo.
The victim apparently fought off a first assault, but lost consciousness and woke up later at Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula, where a sexual assault exam confirmed she had been raped.
Along with the eight-year sentence, Pollacci is also scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 16 for raping two other women, one in 2007 and another in 2008.
A conviction could bring a sentence of 24 years.
