The Monterey County Department of Health announced Friday that the peppers from Miravalle Foods and avocado pulp from Hellman Frozen Food's Senor Mexicano brand are being recalled.
Miravalle Foods recalled 37,318 pounds of the peppers, which were distributed between March 15 and May 6. The peppers have the potential to be contaminated with the Salmonella bacteria, according to the department.
The peppers were distributed to a small group of customers through direct delivery, wholesalers and retail stores.
Consumers who purchased the peppers are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. People with questions can call the company at (626) 575-7551 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Hellman Frozen Food recalled 992 cases of their Senor Mexicano avocado pulp because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with either recall, according to the department.
