Christina Chan, 31, was climbing the Eichorn Pinnacle in the Tuolumne Meadows area of Yosemite with three to four friends when she fell Friday afternoon, park spokeswoman Kari Cobb said.
Cobb said Chan had been soloing, or climbing without a rope, and was on her way down the slope when she slipped and fell about 300 feet.
Chan was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Cobb, Chan had been a frequent visitor of Yosemite. She said Chan was climbing a "fairly easy" route and that it's a popular route in Yosemite to climb without a rope.
