CA Supreme Court invalidates affirmative action law

State justices ruled San Francisco's law violates Proposition 209, the voter-approved ban on affirmative action in public programs. Two construction companies challenged the legality of the San Francisco law. There is no word yet from the city attorney on whether he will try to appeal the ruling, but a federal appeals court already upheld Prop 209 back in 1997.
