Eating chocolate heart-healthy for women

SAN FRANCISCO

Swedish women who had one or two servings of high-quality chocolate each week had a 32 percent lower risk of developing heart failure.

But women who treated themselves to one serving per day did not appear to benefit.

Researchers think maybe they ate so much, chocolate replaced other nutritious foods.

Flavanoid compounds in chocolate are known to lower blood pressure.
