Investigators claim Ervin Ancheta and Quan Nguyen blasted a green laser light into the cockpit using a laser pointer purchased from Amazon.com.
The men may face felony federal charges and prison time.
Nationally, officials say there have been more than 1,200 laser incidents so far this year, with a third of those in California.
