The judge refused to rule on San Francisco's request for a temporary moratorium on SmartMeters saying a speedy decision is unncecessary.
A recent investigation by the state found SmartMeters are accurate.
However, critics say the investigation didn't look into the communication system that relays the energy usage data from the SmartMeters back to PG&E.
