Researchers create STD app for Smart Phones

Researchers in Great Britain have spent about $6.5 million turning cell phones into mobile STD testing stations -- similar to current pregnancy testing kits.

The user would be able to put urine or saliva onto a computer chip about the size of a USB drive then plug it into the phone or computer for a quick diagnosis of common STD's like syphilis or gonorrhea.

No word yet on when the app might be generally available.
