Mexicans in the US warned of drug cartel violence

The Mexican government is warning drivers coming down from the U.S. to travel in convoys and only during the daylight hours.

The warning is in response to the hold-ups, shootings and kidnappings blamed on rival drug gangs who are fighting for control of the region.

The head of a Southern California travel group says 2,300 of his members have cancelled trips home to Veracruz this year because of the violence.
