The fire in the 1,200-square-foot barn, located in a field at Hearn and Dutton avenues, was reported around 5 a.m., Battalion Chief Jack Piccinini said.
Flames and smoke were visible when firefighters arrived, Piccinini said.
The fire was contained within 20 minutes but it destroyed the old barn, Piccinini said. It caused $40,000 in damage to the structure and contents.
