Two reports in the British Medical journal found up to a three-fold greater risk of blood clots in women taking Yaz birth control.
Since this contradicts early research data, the FDA will review that study. They expect to have the results later this summer.
In the meantime, patients should watch for blood clot symptoms including leg or chest pains.
