Park officials named the male calf Brandon, after Giants rookie first baseman and outfielder Brandon Belt.
"The baby giraffe" has become Belt's unofficial nickname because of the way he moves. Fans and even Belt himself have embraced the moniker, much teammate Pablo Sandoval's nickname "the panda."
Belt plans to visit his giraffe namesake very soon.
