La Casa De Las Madres discovered the problem in late July when a victim of domestic violence called for help and couldn't get through on her MetroPCS phone.
Casa De Las Madres contacted the company several times to find out why the line was blocked.
"I think at first we thought this must be a mistake, who would block a crisis line for victims of domestic violence? And then we kept getting the run-around and once they said, 'We reserve the right to block that number,' I think we were really just disturbed. We also we were mad," said Claire McCullough from La Casa De Las Madres.
MetroPCS would not speak on camera, but they issued this statement saying, "Metro PCS recently discovered a technical issue that temporarily interrupted the connection to the La Casa De Las Madres hotline number. This technical issue has been corrected."
