A car became wedged between a big rig truck and a fence that separates eastbound I-580 and BART tracks Thursday afternoon. The accident is in-between the Castro Valley and West Dublin BART stations.
The accident is causing a large traffic backup along eastbound I-580. Traffic is backed up to I-880 in Hayward. (Click here to check your commute)
BART is single-tracking its trains in the area until the accident is cleared up. BART says its trains are delayed approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
The conditions of the drivers of the vehicles are not known. Crews managed to separate the car from the fence shortly before 5 p.m.
