Man stabbed in convenience store parking lot

SAN FRANCISCO

Police Lt. Troy Dangerfield said a witness heard the argument outside the Kwik and Convenient store at 600 Monterey Blvd. and called police.

The victim and the suspect left the scene in separate directions, and Dangerfield said another witness spotted the victim bleeding in the 200 block of Acadia Street, several blocks from the Glen Park BART station, at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of stab wounds -- two to the neck and two to his back. Dangerfield said this morning that the victim was listed in stable condition.

Another witness called police to report seeing the suspect near the Sunnyside Recreation Center at Foerster Street and Mangels Avenue.

Police arrested Bernardo Robleto, of San Francisco, after statements he made and other evidence "led inspectors to believe that he was clearly the suspect," Dangerfield said.

Two witnesses identified Robleto as the suspect, he said.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the stabbing. Although both men live in the area, Dangerfield said it is unknown whether the men knew each other.

The knife used in the crime was recovered, Dangerfield said.
