Brown: Oct. 16 to be 'Steve Jobs Day'

SACRAMENTO, Calif.

In a tweet sent Friday night, Gov. Jerry Brown declared Oct. 16 as "Steve Jobs Day" throughout California.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple plans to hold a private memorial for Jobs at Stanford University.

Jobs passed away on Oct. 5 at the age of 56. The former Apple CEO, who was replaced by current CEO Tim Cook in August, had been battling health issues for several years.
