San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District spokeswoman Kim French said no structures were threatened by the blaze, which was reported near 1625 Lawrence Road shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
She said one firefighter who suffered minor injuries returned to work today.
On Tuesday, the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning, in part because of strong winds in the East Bay. The warning expired this morning.
Crews fighting the grass fire Tuesday night were able to control the fire in about an hour despite the winds.
French also credited nearby homeowners for maintaining their properties' defensible space -- the area around their homes that acts as a fire buffer zone.
