The victims, ages 23 and 28, were shot shortly before 5:30 p.m. on 19th Street between Mission and Capp streets by someone in a group of six suspects seen fleeing the area, according to police.
One of the victims suffered a graze wound to his upper body, and the other was struck in the arm, police said.
Both were taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for their injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.
The suspects, described as men in their early to mid-20s, got into a black SUV and drove away. They had not been arrested as of this morning, police said.
There was a large Cinco de Mayo gathering that day at Dolores Park, a few blocks away, but police spokesman Sgt. Daryl Fong said the shooting is not believed to be connected to any Cinco de Mayo festivities in the Mission.
Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
