Protesters in SF are blocking Muni J-Church and N-Judah lines

SAN FRANCISCO

The protesters are blocking the Duboce tunnel at Duboce and Church. The J-Church and N-Judah lines are not able to get through.

Today is the one year anniversary of Kenneth Wade Harding's death. He died after a shootout with police at 3rd and Palou in the Bayview after he did not pay his Muni fare. Initially it was believed that police shot him, but the coroner ruled that the bullet that killed the 19-year-old came from his own gun. Some in the Bayview community don't believe that.

A group called Humanist Workers for Revolutionary Socialism is helping to organize the shutdown. San Francisco police said they will help facilitate First Amendment rights, provide traffic control and will monitor the scene. A Muni spokesperson said that the agency will plan according throughout the day to the protest.
