Research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration finds one in five parents don't read the instruction manuals for installing safety seats.
The biggest mistakes they found were related to using the wrong slots for seat belts, or leaving the seats too loose. But 90 percent of parents were confident their kids were buckled in safety. Auto accidents are the number one killer of children aged one to 12-years-old.
