Study: Women who read food labels weigh less

Researchers say women who read the nutrition labels while grocery shopping weigh, on average, nine-pounds less than women who don't read food labels.

For men they weighed only one pound less than men who did not read nutrition labels.

The federal research also found that being married and having a college education increases the likelihood that a person will read nutrition labels.
