The electric car company made the announcement over the weekend. Tesla says part of the reason is due to higher than expected sales of its new Model S Sedan. The company sold 250 more cars than it expected.
The announcement of full profitability for Tesla is separate from the Twitter tease CEO Elon Musk made last week. Musk said something "really exciting" is coming.
That announcement is expected Tuesday.
