On Wednesday, Sprinkles Cupcakes at the Stanford Shopping Center donated their entire proceeds for the day of its red velvet cupcakes to the Red Cross Relief Fund.
At $3.50 a pop the shop hopes to raise quite a sum.
Sprinkles has done similar fundraisers for other disasters, but this one has a special meaning.
"Our founder, Charles, he's actually from Oklahoma himself. And his family, parents and brother actually still reside in Oklahoma right now. So this is definitely an event that's really hit us close to heart," said Lillian Choi, the Sprinkles regional manager.
In the past, Sprinkles' 14 stores have donated $55,000 to the Red Cross for other disasters.
