San Jose firefighters find home being 'illegally used'

SAN JOSE, Calif.

Firefighters arrived at about 8:45 p.m. to the home on North 7th Street. They saw flames and smoke pouring out of the basement.

Firefighters had a hard time getting to it because the windows were covered with bars and plywood.

A fire captain told ABC7 News the basement has illegal electrical wiring and the activity inside was for "illegal use".

As of 11 p.m. police were looking for evidence inside the house.
